I think, despite Bluestein coining it first, most people speaking and writing about poplore use it the way you're using it. I bet there are a lot of experiences/realizations similar to yours... someone should collect those and write a book: The Folklore of Poplore.
Maybe you've called my bluff or maybe you need to write another post to clarify... what is the difference between popular culture and poplore? In your final couple of paragraphs they seem interchangeable, and I think I was using them mostly interchangeably--although popular culture is the "thing," while poplore is the lore about the thing, but if we're talking about how it expresses and influences national identity and character, then aren't people writing about popular culture also, often at least, writing about poplore? Maybe not. Ah, I'm feeling like I'm falling down a wormhole here, but, for instance, would "Reading the Romance," be a poplore book?
Maybe there aren't any. Maybe I just read Popular Culture works and assume or make the poplore connections myself? I don't know.

Who else is writing about Poplore? Serious question - links?
