POPLORE STUDIES

Poplore is, simply put, the lore of popular culture.

Just as folklore provides near-endless insights into the world from which it originates, popular culture gives us the key to its own analysis. This is the premise on which I built my dissertation, and the framework that drives this project. To understand culture, we must understand what is popular, and why it’s popular, and how it became this thing we call popular culture. It may sound jargon-y and academic, but in practice it’s actually quite simple, as we will demonstrate. And hopefully we’ll have fun along the way.
